Marble

Marble is a metamorphic rock consisting of carbonate minerals that recrystallize under the influence of heat, pressure and aqueous solutions.

Marble Slabs usually have beautiful clean patterns. However they can be  Porous and must be sealed to avoid staining. Marbles are also prone to etching and scratching more than other natural stones

Calcite is a carbonate mineral and the most stable polymorph of calcium carbonate.

Calcites Slabs are harder than marble but softer than Granite. We recommend sealing and to avoid cutting over them since they have similar properties to marble

The geological process of conversion of calcite to dolomite is known as dolomitization.

Dolomite Slabs are also sometimes crudely referred as soft Quartzites. Dolomites are harder than marble and Calcites but softer than Granite and Quartzites.
